Okay, I can't figure it out. Why am I seeing a copyright 2010, all right reserved at the bottom of every message? Is this something new?? ???

Is this an indicator that the words are copyright to the person who comments? Or that they are copyright to C19 because they are hosted here? I have known a major forum close down and none of the threads were officially allowed to be saved or copied for posterity because it was claimed by the owner of the site that they "owned" everything that had been written there.

I noticed that too. I'd seen it on the Graphics sub-board before. Any particular reason it's now on every thread?

I just started seeing/noticing this, too.

Does anyone know what's up with the notation at the end of every post now? I never recall seeing it before -

©2010 , All Rights Reserved.

Whose copyright? Who owns the copyright to the text of the posts on C19?

Is someone writing - or going to write - a book on C19? ??? That's the only reason I can come up with for copyright ownership. Or would there be another reason?

Ah, I got an answer - or a surmise from Annalynn. :-* The cause may be this incident of stolen graphics - talked about here on the following thread -

Graphics Being Stolen Thread

P.S. The copyright notation does make the post look cluttered and un-pretty, though. Sigh' :-[

Yes, this is exactly the reason that this is being done, sadly.

Thanks!! At least I'm not going crazy and seeing things! Just read through the graphics stolen thread and am so sorry to see that people would do something like that. :( On the plus side, I also figured out why my computer keeps dinging at me when I try to right click to open a link in a new window. Who knew someone would do that in order to steal a picture?!

Oh, but hey , this is cool - my name is there now. ;D How cool is that! I can live with 'un-pretty'. Ah, egoboo! :-[

P.S. It does look so much nicer without it, though, in the 'Preview'. It does. Sigh' - an era is lost...

Yes, it doesn't look very pretty but I understand why it's being done. Such a pity some people feel the need to steal artwork and take credit for it. [image]

Now I'm jealous! [image] Why do some people just have a 2010 copyright and others have two copyrights? Looks like one for 2010 and one for 2008. No fair! >:(

I have to admit that I've found it useful. I used to have to scroll back up to look at who posted a long message or who posted a long list of pictures. But not any more! Now it's nicely listed at the bottom in the copyright who it is I need to thank for the pictures. [image]

I'm working on training myself to put an extra hard return after a post so that it leaves a nice space between my text and my copyright notice.

Hey Jenna!! 8-) That is such a great idea, [image] the "extra hard return after a post" [image] I have to try that too, it makes sense! And I also find the 2010 copyright sign useful as well!

I was a bit confused when I saw the copyright too! It all makes sense now.

Sadly, this hits close to home. I have a friend with a successful online business and review blog who has had an online stalker that has stolen her business images, contacts, product reviews, etc. It is so violating and I am really glad that C19 is protecting us from image/text theft before it happens! Thanks guys!

Also, JennaL,
I love hard return idea!
