 The C19 Clock
« Thread Started on Mar 28, 2007, 7:31am »

I'm just putting this up as an announcement for a few days as there are lots of comments about this around the board. :)

The clock on the forum does not automatically change. Unlike the clock in say your bedroom, the clocks on the servers are for users all around the world. Everyone changes their clocks on different weekends, different times of the day, and some dont even change them

For this reason, Proboards do not alter THEIR clocks. You will need to make a simple change in your profiles, just like you would in most rooms of your house.

In your profile, there is an option under the timezone which asks if you are currently observing daylight saving time. If you are, then set this option to yes.

This will let you keep the timezone, but will make the appropriate time changes.

So to clarify, you must select your own timezone in your profile and check the Daylight Savings Time box if you are currently observing it. :)

The clock on C19 has always been a minute slower than the one on my pc, but I have noticed that it is now an additonal 4 minutes slower.

Is mine the only one that has gone weird in the last few hours?

Mine is 3 minutes slower than my PC...maybe Proboards aren't syncing with an external time source?? [image]

1 minute faster here. Not sure what that's about.

Alternatively we could just write the time down on a piece of paper...

Only 2 minutes slower tonight.

I wonder if it has anything to do with how quick your internet connection is?

Yes, I'm about 15 minutes slower now - normally it's about 1 minute out from our system time.

Not that important, but it's probably some new alien that we'll have to get Dr Who in to deal with..... ;)

It's about 10 minutes slower for me. Perhaps it's stuck in a time loop. ;D
