 North and South Sequel
« Thread Started on Mar 10, 2008, 6:20am »

I'm simply looking for a North and South sequel or story about what happened to Margaret went home with Thornton (end of movie). There are so many fan fics but some of them were either re-telling of the story, or were told in modern times. Do you know of any of the writers told the story right after the train station scene in the movie? Thanks!

Hi marfi and welcome to the board! 8-)

There are many that fit your description, I'm sure. You might give Cate's "The Thorntons" a try. I've read it myself and enjoyed it a lot! [image]

I second that, but I am not sure that the story is complete.. I thought there were other chapters forthcoming, but I could be mistaken.

My recommendation is also for Mistress of Marlborough by Louisa. There are 19 chapters and chapter 20 should be out any time.

For two roses, I also recommend louisa's "Mistress of Marlborough." If you're reading this, louisa, please note that I'm going insane, waiting for your next chapters.

For four/five roses, I recommend "Roses & Thorns" by lostin1855 (RT). This sequel is long--it could be a book. It should be a book. You have to PM lostin1855 for the fanfic. She's very nice. She emailed me a copy right away.

I just started reading boz's N&S sequel (boz's scribblings), and so far, gripping.

There's a really lovely story that picks up from the end of the novel called Pack Clouds Away by Lucy (lstone), and it's complete.

I highly recommend this one, it's one of my favorites on the board. :-*

Just a quick note on the roses rating... it doesn't apply to the quality of the fanfic, but to the raciness. The scale is 1-5 roses (5 being the raciest and 1 being the tamest). There is a full explanation on the fanfic section.

I think one would be willing to put up with a good deal to be Mistress of Marlborough Mills

Lila, you are not mistaken; there are over 30 chapters in my wp file at home (and I'm still not done!!), but only 20 are "finished" and posted on C19 so far. More coming SOON (I hope). I've been working on Ch. 21, 22, 23.

geeksewing, I only found out about this thread today. Highly flattered and grateful that you lovely readers are recommending my story. As for going insane, that describes my RL, and the fact that I HAVE SO LITTLE TIME TO WRITE!! I wish I could write full-time, until it's done.

Piccadilly, thanks so much for the rating clarification. I laughed when I saw it. (Knowing about the "rose rating" as I do, it did not occur to me that some might take it another way! LOL). [image]

Thanks, ladies!

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I am really glad that I found it. I have already read some of the sequels suggested above. I would love to read "Roses and Thorns" by lostin1855.
It appears that that is not posted here and requires a PM to the author.
But I haven't figured out how to send a PM yet.
How do I send a PM? I couldn't find that feature anywhere
Thanks in advance.
